Overview
These scholarships are to financially assist students applying to the Master’s programs at the three schools of architecture in the South-West Ontario region: University of Toronto, Toronto Metropolitan University, and the University of Waterloo.
Eligibility & Submission Rules
Background
For several years, the South-West Ontario Chapter of the RAIC College of Fellows has donated the proceeds from its annual fundraising event to the RAIC Foundation, supporting its various awards programs and related administrative activities.
In 2024, the SW Ontario Fellows decided to allocate a portion of these proceeds to a new set of scholarships to benefit students at the three accredited architecture schools in their region.
- Daniels Faculty of Architecture, Landscape and Design at the University of Toronto
- Faculty of Engineering and Architectural Science at Toronto Metropolitan University
- School of Architecture at the University of Waterloo.
Eligibility
Starting in the 2025-2026 school year, these scholarships will be open to students applying to enter the first or second year of the master’s program at each of these schools.
Amount
Each year, six scholarships of $ 2,500 will be available, two for each of the three schools of architecture in SW Ontario. The full amount of the scholarship will be paid to each recipient upon announcement of their selection.
Selection Criteria
Selection will be based on a holistic assessment of each application, including academic merit, as well as on the demonstration of financial need.
Submission Requirements
Applicants for these scholarships must submit a brief statement explaining their need for financial assistance.
Adjudication
The recipients of the South-West Ontario COF Admissions Scholarships from each of the three schools will be selected by the admissions committee of the school.
